"Nostalgia": The Making of a Special Gold-Filled Bangle

As my birthday approaches, I always find myself becoming increasingly nostalgic. And in the quiet moments, I often contemplate where I've been, expressing gratitude for the challenges overcome, all while, coupling hopeful thoughts about the future.

This particular birthday holds a special place in my heart as I recall how last year, my girlfriends coming over to spend time with me in my new home, the intense labor in the hospital, and the first moments with our daughter.

Remy and I also navigate new seasonal challenges along the way, and although still learning, we manage to become closer as we find our rhythm in each new season. And I value this gift, understanding that it is not promised. So I wanted to create something special.

I was inspired by the concept of this bracelet's design last year and finally got the courage to craft it! First, a tiny 14k V-shaped gold-filled bangle adorned with an amethyst stone for Cameron and then my own. These stones are sourced from London and shimmer so beautifully. And the meticulous craftmanship involved mastering techniques like creating the deep "V" and learning to solder the tubing without compromising the delicate gold-filled metal.

Polishing the piece with my Dremel was a delicate and thorough process, and when I finally set the stone chef's kiss*. I looked forward to the next day eager to see Cameron try on the bangle!

I think I can envision this piece as a special gift shared between a mother and daughter, or any other significant bond that means something to you! This bangle is a celebration of the precious times we all hold dear. As I look back on these reflections and marvel at how far God has brought me, I'm reminded to cherish the uniqueness of each fleeting moment – because I can't reclaim them, but I can celebrate their impact on my journey.

Here's to the little moments of nostalgia that shape our lives and the meaningful connections we build along the way.
