Five years ago, I started making jewelry with personalized bracelets carrying the phrase "No Shame," meant to uplift a group of women, myself included, processing some very hard things...Changed Impressions was birthed from that moment. Then life happened...marriage, baby, home, I really thought I would never get back to making jewelry again. .
And then I returned... I wanted to craft something beautiful for Cameron. I practiced making bangles until I perfected the size and seamless joint just for her. This journey also led me to a workshop where I learned new things that boosted my confidence in different styles. When I thought about restarting Changed Impressions, I knew I wanted it to look different. Meaningful still, but handcrafted in a new and very special way.
Jewelry-making has always been a way I am able to process...a way to reflect and listen. Whether that means in silence, to music, or even a podcast. Since diving back in, I've found a clearer sense of direction and hope in the still small moments.
So when British Vogue contacted me about a campaign opportunity, I felt affirmed, full of happiness and just thankful. I'm definitely in my feelings a little bit and I'm honestly humbled and excited to continue on this journey to see where this goes :).
I hope that shines through in every piece I create..
Ttfn,
"Nik" B.
