2025 A Year of Becoming — A Note from the Designer

Updated: Dec 31

What began as inspiration from the chrysalis—the quiet, transformative pause before a butterfly emerges—unfolded into a living metaphor for my year. Yet in the stillness, a sense of clarity found me. And what felt like a long pause became a necessary unfolding.

This Christmas was a sweet reminder of what grounds me: faith, friends, and family. From learning and rediscovering recipes from my childhood and Caribbean roots, to walking through Advent with Cameron and reflecting on why we celebrate this season. I even received my very own flex shaft ( a beautiful piece of a jewelry tool) from my hubby—

2025 carried loss and it also led to a decision to pause in a way I hadn’t expected. To honor my father’s passing. To slow down when the world around me seemed determined to keep moving. And in that pause, I found myself navigating a new role in the corporate world, curating a new house into a home, and carving out meaningful, grounding moments we often rush past. The stillness wasn’t easy— and sometimes carried guilt, but it was sacred and necessary. It reminded me that transformation doesn’t always look like motion; sometimes it looks like staying still long enough to feel and wrestle, to honor, to breathe...

The year also held joy, growth, new opportunities, challenges, and direction. In an uncertain economy, I’ve realized this: I work for my family, and I work for a dream. And in the pause, I kept asking myself—What do I want this dream to become? What keeps it alive?

The answer is simple: you.

My love for designing and curating jewelry isn’t rooted in necessity. It’s rooted in how jewelry makes us feel—seen, special, confident, adorned with intention. It’s in the quiet luxury of pieces that enhance the beauty you already carry.

I love what Changed Impressions has grown into—the message, the meaning, the delicate refinement. And yes, the design details… I’m particular about those. It's the creativity and thoughtful presentation for me!

Looking Ahead to 2026

In the year ahead, I’m expanding Changed Impressions to offer both curated and custom jewelry. Some pieces will be handcrafted, others thoughtfully sourced—but all chosen with intention, care, and uncompromising quality.

My hope is to become your trusted and personal jeweler—the one you can come to when celebrating love, engagement, birthdays, milestones, and everything in between.

I want to empower you with knowledge, from understanding why metals matter to choosing pieces that last. Quality over quantity. Meaning over trend. And always within the budget that honors my work and you.

Thank you for welcoming me into your moments this year. I look forward to being your gold jeweler girlie (and some silver too upon request :)) in the new year—creating beauty for wherever your journey leads.

Warmly,

Nik B.
